Importance of supplements in a sports man’s life


For everyone especially sportsman, diet is of the paramount importance. Whether you are a sportsman or a sportswoman, taking healthy supplement is the key to doing well in your athletics. Moreover, there is scientific evidence that suggests people who are just grooming into shape after a period of relative immobility require more of the essential nutrients and elements, like vitamin, than other people, including serious athletes.

The athletes must have good food intake. They must have high nutritional supplements in their diet. An athlete should be taking in most of his calories from carbohydrates, which include vegetables, oats, grains, wheat, rice, bread, etc. The accurate number that he should aim for is 57% of his diet. There is the protein group which should make up the 13% of his diet. Protein is found in meat, fish, nuts and pulses, and is necessary to make the athletic body function well. Fats should comprise 30% of athlete’s intake. I mean fats like unsaturated fats like olive oil, fats from fish, and so on. Saturated fats, like butter should be avoided in any well diet.

Some people wonder why energy drinks are important, thinking that water is just as effective as some special energy drink. However, all the fuss over energy drinks is not just unnecessary hype. Energy drinks actually do have a real function in helping athletes perform and recover, and serious athletes can really take advantage from what energy drinks can provide. However, it is important that consumers and athletes know what a energy drink is designed to do so that they make sure that the energy drink they are consuming is effective and healthful. The chief justification for consuming energy drinks is that they contain vital elements that athletes need to perform at a high level. When athletes practice or play hard sweating is inevitable.

Fruit and vegetable supplements are a good source of energy. They are mobile and instant energy suppliers. By ‘mobile’ I mean that it can be taken anywhere. They are a great source of nutrition. The high calorie vegetables are essential in sportsman’s life like yam having 110 calories, beetroot having 38 calories, carrot having 32 calories and so on.

Sports is the life of a sports man but in order to live up his life he must be active and smart and so he must take help from these supplements but should not be too much depended on them.
