Blackberry 9520 (Storm 2) Reviewed
Many BlackBerry users will say that each and every old or new BlackBerry phone has its own benefits and that none of these phones have been truly bad. Much like this,HTC phones will always be praised by HTC users, Samsung phones will be praised by Samsung users and so on. However, when it comes to BlackBerry phones, there is probably much more truth to this than most of us realize. Namely, every RIM’s phone up to today has been sold in large numbers, and there must be a valid reason for this. Well, the reason is simple – every RIM’s phone was good enough to be sold in such large numbers. Therefore, the BlackBerry 9520, also known as the Storm 2, has its satisfied users, even though many people have found numerous flaws to this BlackBerry phone.
Compared to the BlackBerry Storm, the BlackBerry Storm 2 has been slightly changed when it comes to its physical appearance. There is no sign of physical buttons; it has been made a little sharper, thus more elegant and it generally looks well made. Aside from this, it is much easier to type on the Storm 2 than it was on the original Storm, as the BlackBerry’s auto correction feature has been improved and works amazingly well. Another great thing about this phone is the fact that the screen actuators are turned off automatically when you take the phone near your face to make a call, so there is no way that you will have the problem of pressing the buttons by accident while talking on the phone.
When it comes to the camera, it is a 3.2 megapixel camera with flash, and it has proven to be quite good, actually. The pictures made with this camera are good enough for a phone of this level. The screen size is 3.3 inches, with the resolution of 360 x 480 pixels. Battery life is solid, but it could have been better. The internet experience is better than with the original BlackBerry Storm, but it still needs a lot of work in order to become a real threat to competitors. Instant messaging and emailing are a dream with this BlackBerry, much like with any other BlackBerry Bold and Curve phones available on the market.
All in all, the BlackBerry 9520, also known as the BlackBerry Storm 2, is a pretty good phone for its price and although there are some negative sides of it, they can be easily overlooked when you are willing to focus on the many benefits of the phone.
